Entitlements After Breast Surgery

HSE Entitlements

Anyone who has undergone breast surgery will automatically be entitled to a first fit which includes two mastectomy bras, a breast prosthesis and one post op swimsuit all free of charge.

If you are a Medical Card holder, you are entitled to two mastectomy bras, one post op swimsuit and one breast prosthesis every two years after your first fit, all free of charge.

Depending on your location, an application is made by Linnoco on your behalf to the HSE. This process can take time but rest assured, we make it as simple and stress free as possible by looking after all the paperwork for you.

Private Health Insurance

If you have private health insurance, you should talk to your health insurance provider. Depending on your individual plan, most health insurance providers offer a certain level of cover towards post breast surgery products.

Tax Relief

You may also be eligible for tax relief. You can claim tax relief on health expenses through your income tax return form under the heading “Tax Credits & Reliefs”.You will need to submit your receipts. For more information visit revenue.ie
